What's The Current Trend

Do you ever wonder what happens to bloggers when all of a sudden they stop. That's me (the disappeared part). Rather, that's me admitting that I am a horrible stay in touch type blogger, who just randomly pops up 4 months later. So how does one like me make a smooth comeback to the blogging world after my little hiatus.

Uh, Hi.
Let's talk fashion, shall we?

Color:
It seems our latest trend is color, colorblock, and lots of it. When I look back to my days of wearing browns, greys, and blacks, I want to say yuck! My color palette has changed dramatically this summer, ranging from yellows (obsessed with it), to orange (my latest fav), and green.

Dresses
High low dresses are still in style (Yes!!!!) but they may not be for long, that is why I tend not to get too excited over them. Maxi dresses, while quite popular, will stay around longer, while mini dresses and leggings are still going strong, but may lose style over the next year.

Floral
Floral is going very strong right now. Everything is floral down to purses, jewelry, headbands, earings, scarves, belts, flower pieces, tights, dresses, tops, pants, jeans, etc, etc.
My current favorite is vintage floral that resembles floral designs of the 50's. The pattern on dresses is enough to make me keep coming back for more.

Braids
Ever since the Hunger Games, braids have become such a trend. Braided headband pieces, french braids, side braids, and braids of all types, are everywhere. It is so great to see the french braid coming back after it's big 90's fad.

Bohemian Jewelry
Big bohemian, Indian style jewelry is a big trend right now, down to big chandelier earrings, cuff bracelets, long necklaces, and more.

Purses
Long crossbody purses are still going strong, but I have a feeling that satchel's will be coming around stronger in the next few months.
Brown and black purses seem to be going out (we all know brown purse is a classic), but with the latest trend being color, more red, yellow, and green purses are making an appearance, as well as florals. IMO, stick with the brown purse for fall, color blocking is a temp trend.

Skirts
Full body, high waisted pleated floral skirts are still going strong, while pencil skirts are not. My favorite look is of course the full body skirts, higher waisted, with a top tucked in to show the waistline. I of course love this look paired with ballet flats or sandles over heels.

Jeans and Capris
I have not worn either forever due to my dress/skirt obsession. Okay, there is a REAL reason I don't like how pants/jeans look on my body. I have no butt (proof from picture). In all seriousness, pants don't flatter my body type, and I refuse to wear a butt pad. but for those who rock the pant look, I think skinny jeans will be around for a long long time. Some believe they may go out of style, but I don't think they will. High waisted 70's jeans don't seem to popular these days, but then again, I am very partial to dresses and skirts, and don't seem to pay much attention to pants.

Fringe
Of course fringe can't be left off our list. Everything from fringe purses, fringe boots, jackets, tops, and more. That is one 70's trend we can't resist now, can we?

Peplum
I almost left this current trend off this list. I only own one, and although these tops don't flatter all body types, making some look a little fatter in some areas, I do think the top does flatter most.

More trends I didn't think of, comment or email me! :)
